The full story is here, but to sum it up: A lady wanted to restore an old fresco of jesus but didn’t know what she was doing and really screwed it up.
Christian Fraser, a correspondent for the BBC, described the “once-dignified” portrait as looking like “a crayon sketch of a very hairy monkey in an ill-fitting tunic.”
Now that’s good copy.
